Known as The Primal One by some, Mark KerinsÕ primordial grunts can be heard from afar as he pounds volleyballs to his opponentÕs sand.

After being named one of the top fifty high school players in the country, Kerins joined the Long Beach State 49ers and was honored there as an All-American three times.

Since joining the AVP Tour as a rookie in 1993, Kerins has really been turning up the heat. In 1997, he placed 1st in Cape Cod with Henry Russell and 2nd in Miami with Andrew Smith. In 1998, he placed 1st in Muskegon with Canyon Ceman and 3rd in Jacksonville with Henry Russell.

Kerins had another solid year in 1999. Although he finished no higher than 3rd, his finishes were consistently higher than ever before. Playing almost exclusively with Kevin Martin in 1999, Kerins had two 3rds, four 5ths, one 7th, two 9ths, and two 13ths. He finished the year ranked 16th on the AVP Tour.

2000 should be another strong year for Kerins on the AVP Tour.

Kerins resides with his wife Gabrielle and daughters Summer and Sky in Oceanside, California.
