It was the summer of 1994 when Bill Sigler, a former AAA volleyball player, had the vision to blend functional apparel with the So Cal beach culture. He partnered with AVP superstars like Jose Loiola, Albert Hannemann, and others to assist with designs, fabrics, etc. And Smack Sportswear was born … on the sands of the Manhattan Beach pier … launched in local stores like Beach Life, Becker Surf, and other small shops in the South Bay. Since then Smack has kept true it’s So Cal roots, integrating that style into performance apparel that allows superior athletes to perform at their peak.
