DIGGIN’ IT IN DURANGO

This weekend will be full of excitement with the tournament soon to be underway. Smack Sportswear is proud to be the sponsor of such a huge event that will bring together the community at large.

But Smack could not have done this without the collaboration with Terene M. Foutz, Executive Director at Four Corners Volleyball Club. “Smack Sportswear is a fantastic event and program partner, and has been with Four Corners VBC every step of the away, across twelve years. Prompt service, great pricing, and customization, allows for a strong partnership, and mutual growth in volleyball. We greatly appreciate our relationship with Smack Sportswear, and plan to continue growing with them, servicing our community volleyball kids.”

The tournament will start on Saturday but not before some great events that Foutz has put together.  “It’s an honor to bring this event to Durango, Bayfield and Ignacio, as many teams now include the Diggin’ It as a primary event on their USAVolleyball Schedules. Fort Lewis College Women’s Volleyball is also on stage, and can showcase its beautiful campus. Over 56 of participating volleyball teams will compete for their division championships in FLC Whalen and the FLC Student Life Center, ” Terene Foutz, FCVBC Director and Head Coach. It is estimated that over 900 families will partake of Durango’s downtown offerings, restaurants, and hotel accommodations.

Friday, April 6, 4pm-730pm, the Fort Lewis College Volleyball Program is also hosting its spring FLC Volleyball ID Camp. The ID Camp provides an atmosphere for the serious volleyball player currently in high school grades 10-12, college freshmen-sophomore years, with aspirations of playing at the college level. Interested players can register online at www.goskyhawks.com, from the FLC Volleyball web page.

Saturday, April 7, 7pm, the Diggin’ It In Durango is featuring a rare local NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball spring match. Colorado State University Women’s Volleyball versus Northern Arizona University Women’s Volleyball is hosted by and played at Bayfield High School, home of alumni Kirstie Hillyer and Maddi Foutz. “Our Bayfield kids are bringing their CSU Rams home with them, and will share their NCAA powerhouse program with their home community,” Terene Foutz, FCVBC Director and Head Coach. Over 700 tickets have been sold online for this event, will likely sell out. No walk-in tickets will be sold at Bayfield High School. Online tickets are available through March 28, by going to www.fourcornersvolleyball.leagueapps.com, from the Diggin’ It In Durango web page.

Coach Foutz encourages the community to get to the Diggin’ It matches, Saturday-Sunday, April 7-8.
